Anneke van Giersbergen & Agua de Annique – ‘Live In Europe’

Style: indie pop / rock
What: CD
label/own: Agua Recordings/Jammm

"Live in Europe" is already the fourth album in three years for the busy bee Anneke van Giersbergen. This is, or to a live album that was recorded during several concerts in France and Spain. As we have previously written comments Van Giersbergen with Agua de Annique players, Ruud Jolie to screaming guitar, Rob Snijders to the thundering drums and Jacques de Haard with his impetuous bass exuberant energy fantastic by them in the recordings. This time is the live aspect alone but can be heard clearly.

We are equal with the concert atmosphere towed by the short intro with sounds from the audience and the first sounds of Anneke van Giersbergen & Agua de Annique. The live effect is further reinforced by what can be heard in between shout-outs to the public as a "Merci beaucoup!" and a "Thank you Barcelona, we love you! Goodnight!" Subsequently, the same heaviness thrown well with 'The World' this sturdy rocking trend is put in either "My Girl" as in "Who I Am '. We can be happy again to catch my breath with the beautifully understated "Day After Yesterday". Then comes the cheerful "Hey Okay!" Addressed this by simply repeating lyrics are perfect for a live performance, a nice sing along to the public.

For the most part the album is so famous work from previous albums but there are also three new tracks added to the CD. This is the more uptempo songs, "Fury," "Laugh It Out" and together with Devin Townsend wrote "Who I Am '. Since we had not read the tracklist before we played out this CD when it was extremely surprising finish, we suddenly 'Shrink' come over heard. An old friend from Van Giersbergens time at The Gathering. Thirteen years ago, graced the composition has been included on the album "Nighttime Birds". In terms of arrangement, it is slightly modified, but it remains a song as strong as ever.

The songs all sound just a little rawer and sharper in the live version than they did on the studio albums. So the more reason to get to the next opportunity to go get a concert ticket. But for now we enjoy here on this CD.

Number of tracks: 13
Length: 50:07 minutes
